Large Pumpkin
Round 1: In a MR, make 6 SC. Pull the Ring closed, but do not join the round. (6SC)
We are working in continuous rounds. Use a stitch marker if necessary, or a scrap piece of yarn to mark the first stitch of each round.
Round 2: Make 2SC in each stitch around (12SC)
Round 3: *1 SC in the first stitch, 2SC in the next Stitch.* Repeat *-* around. (18SC)
Round 4: *1SC in the first stitch, 1 SC in the next stitch, 2SC in the next Stitch.* Repeat *-* around. (24SC)
Round 5: *1SC in the first stitch and the next two stitches, 2SC in the next stitch.* Repeat *-* around. (30SC)
Round 6: *1SC in the first stitch and the next 3 stitches, 2SC in the next stitch.* Repeat *-* around. (36SC)
Round 7: *1SC in the first stitch and the next 4 stitches, 2SC in the next stitch.* Repeat *-* around. (42SC)
Round 8: *1SC in the first stitch and the next 5 stitches, 2SC in the next stitch.* Repeat *-* around. (48SC)
Round 9 – 16: SC in each stitch around. (48SC)
Round 17: *SC in the first stitch and next 5 stitches, SCD over the next two stitches.* Repeat *-* around. (42SC)
Round 18: *SC in the first stitch and next 4 stitches, SCD over the next two stitches.* Repeat from *-* around. (36SC)
Round 19: *SC in the first stitch and the 3 stitches, SCD over the next two stitches.* Repeat from *-* around. (30SC)
Round 20: *SC in the first stitch and the 2 stitches, SCD over the next two stitches.* Repeat from *-* around. (24SC)
Round 21: *SC in the first stitch and the next stitch, SCD over the next two stitches.* Repeat from *-* around. (18SC)
Round 22: *SC and then SCD over the next two stitches.* Repeat from *-* around. (12SC)
Fill with stuffing
Round 23: SCD around (6SC). SLST to first stitch and finish off, leaving approx. 12-inch tail for sewing.
Closing Up: To close up the pumpkin, weave your tail through each of the 6 SC stitches left and pull the hole closed. Weave the end through the middle of the pumpkin to the bottom side, then put the needle through the top of the pumpkin back to the bottom. Do this 6 times, creating segments in the pumpkin. Make sure to pull tight each time. Once you are happy with your segments, weave in any remaining ends.
Medium Pumpkin
Round 1: In a MR, make 6 SC. Pull the Ring closed, but do not join the round. (6SC)
